Testofen review

Testofen® is a fenugreek extract standardized for 50% Fenuside™. Fenugreek contains over 100 phytochemical constituents, including Furostanol Saponins and Steroidal Saponins, and has multiple health applications. However, Testofen is a unique extract of fenugreek standardized to a proprietary matrix of saponin glycosides that Gencor has named Fenuside. These constituents in Testofen can support healthy sexual desire and vitality, muscle mass, free testosterone levels in men, and help reduce normal symptoms of Andropause in men.

Summary

While fenugreek extract has been known for quite some time to be associated with Testosterone, Testofen is a unique fenugreek extract that has a large number of phytochemical components. Men with an Andropause diagnosis may benefit from supplementation with Testofen in order to prevent drops in free testosterone levels. Clinical study results show improvements in male energy levels, libido, muscle mass and overall feelings of well-being when using Testofen. But there are few caveats, like it has not performed well in all scientific studies, and has a tendency to increase prolactin levels, which is not good for men looking to boost testosterone. Overall, consumer reviews of Testofen seem to be a mixed bag, but still it’s a popular component in most popular Testosterone boosters in the marketplace.

Pros

  • It is clinically tested.
  • May increase free testosterone
  • It could improve libido and sexual desires.
  • Might build up muscle mass and energy.
  • It could aid fat loss.

Cons

  • Since fenugreek also contains galactagogues which have the distinctive ability to increase prolactin levels, which is why fenugreek is also marketed to women to increase their lactation during pregnancy
  • It can give side effects even if it is a natural product that include gastrointestinal issues, diarrhea, nasal congestion, bloating, and diarrhea. It happens when taken in a larger amount.
  • The thing is that fenugreek extracts haven’t always performed this well on scientific studies. Although in rodents, the extract increased muscle growth, it failed to have any impact on circulating testosterone levels.
  • Lastly, a study using 600mg/day of fenugreek extract called “Testofen” on healthy male subjects, failed to show any increases in testosterone levels. Recently, several lawsuites have been filed against companies using testofen in their testosterone boosters.

Someone suggested trying natural testosterone boosting supplements. I found a list of them and researched the ones I found. Several I had already taken with little or no effect. I am aware that finding supplements that work is an individual chemistry experiment. For me Testofen Fenugreek extract works along side of Extra Strength Shilajit. I use a third product that is a blend of these and other agents. I find I feel better and have more strength with these products. I take turns using them and find the results are similar. This is true sexually also. I am over 60 and I am a realist when it comes to what works for me and not having over expectations. – Amazon customer

Traditional use of Testofen has collected some solid results, as shown in Testofen reviews from studies and by consumers.

Testofen benefits include:

Testofen and Weight Loss

Testofen fenugreek extract is believed to increase testosterone levels in men.

Testosterone is of course the hormone which leads to increases in lean muscle mass and decreases in body fat.

Fat loss effects of testosterone are well known to the world.

The high energy you feel is because you burn more energy, and a routine of regular workouts can also cause a significant gain in lean muscle mass.

Although there is limited evidence to support an increase in testosterone, more evidence than not denies such an increase

Despite Testostofen being standardized for ‘furostanol saponins‘ and Testosurge being standardized for it’s ‘grecunin‘ content, I’m not aware of any literature [other than the Indus Biotech presentations] suggesting that Fenugreek extracts have an appreciable effect on testosterone, aromatase, ect.

As far as the ‘grecunin‘ compound goes…. there’s no identification/quantification data on it whatsoever. I can’t even find a CAS number on it. At this point I’m thinking the indus biotech employees that were involved with it’s ‘identification‘, signed a confidentiality agreement or something.

I’ve got a recent 2012 Trigonella foenum-graecum identification analysis and there’s no mention of this elusive compound in it, or in either of the previous literature for that matter –> not that it would be listed under the name grecunin anyway, but still, nothing in reguards to any compounds that affect aromatase or testosterone. The legitimacy of the purported effects are questionable at best.

Description

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is a common herb that originates from the Indian herbal medicine; Ayurveda. Its claimed use is to enhance masculinity and libido.

The seed powder and seed extracts of the fenugreek plant are commonly used in various testosterone boosters, and some manufacturers claim that it would be the single most effective natural compound to raise male testosterone levels, muscular gains, bedroom performance, and so on.

Testofen is a testosterone boosting and male enhancement product that is used for boosting testosterone levels in the body which will result in muscle growth and stimulation of sex drive. It is a very versatile product that offers not just the benefits mentioned above but is also good for the overall health of the user. It is actually a key ingredient in popular supplements such as Nugenix, Ageless male max, Alpha T1 and Synthroid.

It was made and patented by Gencor Pacific Inc, aon it has undergone clinical studies. Researchers analyzed Testofen’s effect to men’s libido. It was found out that Testofen had a positive effect on the quality of life of men and were responsible for dramatic muscle growth, strength, and sexual performance.

What are the Advantages of Testofen?

Testofen is not just a good testosterone booster, but it also has a lot of other benefits. To give you a brief summary of its advantages, let%u2019s list them down.

  • It is clinically tested.
  • May increase free testosterone
  • It could improve libido and sexual desires.
  • Might build up muscle mass and energy.
  • It could aid fat loss.

What are the Disadvantages of Testofen?

While the product has gotten a lot of admiration, it still has some downside to it that you might want to consider before you make a decision of using it.

  • Most people think that fenugreek is only used as an ingredient to normalize and increase male testosterone levels. This isn’t the case. Since fenugreek also contains galactagogues which have the distinctive ability to increase prolactin levels, which is why fenugreek is also marketed to women to increase their lactation during pregnancy.

Although men taking fenugreek won’t likely start producing milk, it’s still very much likely that supplementing with the herb can lead to elevated prolactin, which is somewhat detrimental for testosterone production via inhibition of dopamine. For obvious reasons, the T-booster manufacturers using fenugreek are pretty silent about the issue.

Ingredients

Testofen ingredients include –

  • 4-hydroxyisoleucine
  • Trigonelline
  • Galactomannan
  • Trigoneoside

Other Important Information

Studies, reviews, and anecdotal records show that Testofen does not cause severe negative side effects. However, it does give mild side effects if taken in high dosage.

Aside from that, it causes indirect side effects. The increase in testosterone levels beyond the normal range may cause an imbalance in estrogen and other hormones which will result in the enlargement of breast tissue. Aside from that, men’s sperm production will be decreased with the increase of testosterone levels. This is seen in any testosterone booster available though.

I have been getting Testosterone injections for 4 years and was diagnosed with enlarged prostate. This is common due to the swings on levels between injections over time.
My level of testosterone varied from 700 on the high end and as low as 140.
I was taken off the Testosterone injections for 3 months and my prostate issue has returned to normal. (This means I can pee again lol)
During this time i took Testofen 300 mg daily and although my testosterone levels did not get above 278, I did feel better.
It may be all in my head but I felt better (Less aches and pains and better attitude)during those 3 months.
I stopped taking Testofen after 3 months to see if I would notice any difference.
I have to say I felt much better while taking the Testofen and had more energy.
I believe my current level of 278 is my body trying to produce the Testosterone it needs.
One word of caution to anyone considering oral testosterone is DONT!
Orally taken “TESTOSTERONE” your liver has to process it and is believed to cause serious complications.
Testosterone should be injected or absorbed into body fat NOT THROUGH THE STOMACH!

I wish i could say for sure this product made my body start producing Testosterone but I dont know for sure.
I am going to try Testofen again and will update my results.
As far as Testosterone levels all I have found that really increases my levels are the injections or the gel applications.
I never imagined at 55 I would be going through this but Im not alone!
Herbs get a bad rap but remember most drugs are created from them.
Good luck to all who are going through this.

As a 60 year old in very good health, I was feeling a drop in energy I associated with a natural drop in testosterone. I tried another brand of testofen fenugreek and was satisfied with the results. The stuff was a bit expensive though so I checked for another source. Swanson met my needs and I am happy with the results. I will be buying more in the future.

Did not do squat, afraid after reading the new about rice and weeds in these type of products, that’s what I ended up with. Never felt a change or improvement at all.
