Warrior Fighting Challenge - Harlan, KY - Sept 2, 2006

Warrior FC returned to Harlan, KY to treat the fans to an action packed night of MMA action filled with knockouts, submissions and referee stoppages.

Michael Doughty vs Brian Tompkins
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Brian swings but Michael ducks under and shoots in for a take down and gets Brian to the ground then moves into side mount. Brian locks in a guillotine on the way down and Michael starts hammering in punches and knees to the body as he works to get his head free, Michael then works in a guillotine of his own while pressing Brian against the cage. Seconds later Brian is forced to tap giving Michael the submission victory.

Amen Habidalla vs Wes Phillips
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Amen moves in to swing and the fighters exchange a shot to the head, Wes then turns to move away and Amen catches his back and scores a big suplex slam taking Wes to the mat. Wes makes it back to his feet but Amen still has his back and scores another slam taking the fight back to the ground. The fighters work for control on the ground and it ends with Amen on top but Wes has him held in close to prevent striking and after a few seconds the ref separates the fighters to restart the action. The fighters circle, Wes moves in and swings but Amen ducks under and moves in scoring a side slam and bringing the fight back to the ground. Amen lands a shoulder slam and then an accidental head but causing the ref to step in and stand the fighters while giving Amen a warning. Wes throws a kick to the body and Amen answers back with a shot to the head and then moves in and scores yet another side slam take down. Amen lands a few shots to the head and begins working a arm and neck choke from side control, Wes defends the choke and Amen moves over to half guard and lands a couple shots to the head and body. Wes holds him in close to prevent the striking but Amen is able to land a few more shots to the side of the head before the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Wes comes in with a front kick and eats a shot to the head, Wes answers back with a head shot and Amen moves in to clinch and begins working to get the fight to the ground. After a couple seconds Amen picks him up and slams him to the ground, landing in half guard. Wes holds him in close and Amen starts working a forearm choke, seconds later Wes is forced to tap giving Amen the submission victory.

Mark Miller vs Eric Melton
ROUND 1: The fighters circle, Eric lands first with a shot to the head, Mark comes back with a front kick and a hard shot to the head causing Eric to turn away, Mark closes in and lands a couple more shots to the head that drop Eric to the canvas. Mark jumps down and hammers in a couple more shots and the ref has to come in and pull him off Eric stopping the fight and giving Mark the KO victory.

Paul Huskey vs Freddie Maggard
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and start to circle, Paul throws out a kick to the body but slips and hits the mat, Paul is able to get back to his feet as Freddie closes in and the fighters exchange several shots to the head as Paul is backed up against the cage and then circles off. Paul comes back in hammering shots to the head and while Freddie is landing a few as well its Paul connecting with solid shots that keep Freddie backing up and turning away. Paul then rocks Freddie and sends him to the mat on his knees, Paul keeps hammering in shots until Freddie taps to the strikes giving Paul the TKO victory.

Brandon Bell vs Reggie Cottrell
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Brandon fires off a shot to the head and the fighters clinch and begin working for control as they exchange several shots to the head and work from one end of the cage to the other. Brandon then lands a solid knee to the body and Reggie locks in a guillotine and returns the knee but connects to the head, Reggie lands a few more knees to the head and then releases the choke and returns to the clinch, Brandon then gets a body lock and picks Reggie up and dumps him to the mat landing in side control with Reggie locking in a side head lock. Brandon gets his head free and steps over to full mount where he drops a few shots to the head and body as Reggie works to get free of the mount while holding Brandon in close to prevent much damage. After a few seconds Brandon is able to posture up and hammer in several elbows to the head, Reggie tries to block but is eating several shots to the head Brandon hammers in a few more elbows and starts landing straight punches causing the ref to move in and stop the fight giving Brandon the TKO victory.

Angelo Price vs Sammy Rucker
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Angelo comes in and hammers in a solid right, left combination to the head causing Sammy to turn away from him. Angelo takes his back and scores a huge suplex slam dropping Sammy on his shoulders and back of his head, Sammy immediately taps giving Angelo the submission victory.

Harley Howard vs Derrick Tindell
ROUND 1: Harley comes out swinging and the fighters pair off center ring and start pounding it out toe to toe landing shots to the head. Harley starts moving forward with his shots causing Derrick to back up while swinging, Derrick drops his head to avoid getting hit and Harley slaps on a guillotine and begins cranking away on the choke. Seconds later Derrick drops to his knees as he is choked out and the ref moves in stopping the fight giving Harley the TKO victory.

Paul Crane vs Thomas Hutchins
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Thomas throws a body shot and drops down to go for a take down but Paul gets a head lock and takes the fight to the ground ending up on top. Thomas holds Paul in tight to prevent striking but Paul is still able to fire off a few shots before breaking the grip and standing up then dropping back down with a solid shot to the head. The fighters scramble on the ground and Thomas makes it to his knees where Paul locks in a guillotine and starts cranking away, Paul falls to his back with the choke still locked in and then rolls Thomas over to his back and takes full mount and cranks away forcing Thomas to tap giving Paul the submission victory.

Brandon Webb vs Jonathan Eversole
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Brandon lands a leg kick and they begin to circle. Brandon then moves in swinging and the fighters exchange a few wild punches as he drives Jonathan back against the cage, Brandon then hammers in a couple uppercuts and a knee before picking Jonathan up and slamming him to the mat. Brand hammers in a few more shots to the head from side mount while Jonathan holds him in close and for some reason the ref moves in to stand the fighters and give Brandon a warning before restarting the action. Brandon moves forward with a solid front kick to the body just as Jonathan jumps in with a superman punch that never connects. Jonathan comes back in and swings but Brandon ducks under and shoots taking Jonathan back to the ground. Jonathan gets control of Brandon's head as they go to the ground, Brandon lands a few shots to the body and then gets his head free and postures up where he fires off several shots to the head. Jonathan manages to push him off of him with his feet and Brandon stands, Jonathan starts to get to his feet and eats a big punch to the head on his way up. Jonathan swings back but Brandon ducks and then shoots in taking him back to the ground and hammers in several shots to the head as Jonathan just turns to his side and covers up, after several punches get through Jonathan rolls to his knees and grabs an arm to stop the striking. The fighters stand and Brandon lands another shot to the head and the fighters exchange a few head shots and Jonathan locks in a guillotine and then lands a knee to the head before Brandon pushes out and the fighters begin to circle. Brandon moves in swinging and connects with a few shots before Jonathan clinches up and lands a knee to the body, the fighters separate and Brandon comes back in and lands several more shots to the head while driving Jonathan back against the cage where Jonathan clinches up to stop the strikes.The fighters exchange a couple body shots before Brandon pushes out and hammers in a few shots to the head rocking Jonathan back against the cage. Brandon closes in and lands a couple more shots and the fighters separate and begin to circle just as the bell sounds ending the round.
ROUND 2: Brandon moves in and Jonathan throws a front kick, Brandon catches it and lands a shot to the head as he takes Jonathan to the mat. Jonathan ties him up in his guard and after a few seconds of no action taking place the ref decides to stand the fighters. The fighters start to circle and brandon moves in landing a couple shots to the head and then takes Jonathan to the ground again. After a couple seconds Jonathan rolls out the back and Brandon ends up getting his back and hammers in a few shots to the head. The fighters work on the ground for a while with Jonathan holding Brandon in close and Brandon landing a few more shots to the head before the ref steps in and stands the fighters once more. They circle and Jonathan throws a punch but Brandon moves to the side and steps in and lands a solid shot to the head, they clinch up and Brandon lands a couple more solid shots to the head, the fighters clinch again and Brandon pushes out and lands a couple more shots and the fighters start to circle with each looking very tired as they let the round finish out.
ROUND 3: The fighters come out looking tired for the final round, they circle a bit and Brandon comes in with a front kick and they circle a bit more. Brandon moves in swinging and lands a couple to the head as Jonathan backs up and then circles away and they continue to circle until Brandon moves back in with another front kick. Both fighters are wore out as they continue to circle and coming together every so often to throw a couple shots and back out and circle, with about a minute left in the fight the ref separates the fighters and tells each they need to step up the action and finish out the fight. The fighters meet back up center ring and exchange a few shots to the head and once more begin to circle. The fighters come together a couple more times in an exchange but spend most of the round circling and the round ends sending the fight to the judges. The first two rounds were action packed but as the fight went the distance it showed on the fighters in the third round.

Dustin Walden vs Jimmy Cardwell
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and start to circle, Dustin lands a solid kick to the body and Jimmy attempts to return the kick but slips and goes to the ground. Dustin immediately jumps down on top and lands a shot to the head before Jimmy latches on and pulls him in close to prevent the striking. Dustin moves him over against the cage and steps over to full mount but Jimmy is able to reverse and put Dustin on his back. Jimmy lands a few elbow shots to the head but Dustin holds him in close to prevent much striking and then begins working for a triangle choke from the bottom. Jimmy lands a couple more shots to the head as Dustin locks in the choke and then picks Dustin up and tries to slam his way free but in the end is forced to tap giving Dustin the submission victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and James comes out swinging landing a couple shots to the head. Gary tries to move away but James stays on him and lands a solid kick to the body and then a couple shots to the head that drop Gary to the mat, James jumps down on him and hammers in a couple more shots causing Gary to tap to the strikes giving James the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Darrell throws out a couple jabs and Nate moves in and connects with a shot to the head and then clinches up and picks up Darrell and dumps him to the mat. Nate starts working for control on the ground and Darrell turns giving up his back, Nate then starts hammering in shots to the head causing Darrell to just cover up and flatten out. Nate stands over him and continues hammering in shots to the head until Darrell taps to the strikes giving Nate the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Brian comes in and swings but misses, Eddie lands a shot to the head and Brian drops down and shoots for a take down driving Eddie back against the cage. The fight then goes to the ground with Brian ending on top in full mount, Eddie throws a couple shots to the side of the head and then rolls Brian reversing position. Brian holds him in close but Eddie is still able to land a few shots to the head and body while trying to break his grip. Eddie finally gets free and postures up hammering in several shots to the head as Brian covers up. Eddie continues hammering in shots to the head causing Brian to turn giving up his back, Eddie lands a few more shots to the head but Brian is able to back out and get to his feet. The fighters immediately clinch up and Eddie lands a knee to the body and a couple to the head, they continue working for control in the clinch until Eddie slings Brian to the mat and stands over him hammering in shots to the head until Brian taps to the strikes giving Eddie the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves Jake lands a jumping front kick to the body and then a shot to the head that drops Ricky to the mat, Jake stands over him hammering in shots to the head causing the ref to rush in and stop the fight giving Jake the TKO victory in just 7 seconds.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Tony throws a front kick that Mike catches and then just pushes him to the mat. Mike jumps down on him just as Tony makes it to his knees and the fighters begin working for control ending with Tony putting Mike on his back. Tony lands a couple shots to the head and then Mike reverses control rolling Tony to his back, something happens, maybe a head but that causes the ref to step in and have Tony's head looked at and the fight is resumed with the fighters standing. The fighters exchange a couple shots to the head and then clinch up with Mike pressing Tony against the cage. Tony lands a few shots to the side of the head and the fighters go to the ground while working for control and Tony ends up on top. Tony lands several shots to the body and head and after a few seconds Mike verbally submits giving Tony the TKO victory.

Kelvin Stolks vs Delbert Eddington
ROUND 1: The fighters begin to circle, Delbert rushes in swinging wild and lands a shot to the head, Kelvin answers back with a solid shot to the face that causes Delbert to turn away, Kelvin takes his back and puts him on the mat where the fighters scramble for control ending with Kelvin with his back against the cage working a guillotine choke. After several seconds of no action and the choke not forcing the submission the ref moves in to stand the fighters. The fighters circle, Kelvin lands a front kick and then Delbert rushes in to clinch and presses Kelvin back against the cage. The fighters work for control and Delbert lands a knee to the body, Kelvin spins Delbert around pressing him against the cage and returns the knee and a couple shots to the head. Kelvin throws another knee to the body and then several punches to the ribs, after a couple more shots Delbert turns into the clinch and takes the fight to the ground ending on top. Kelvin holds him in close to prevent the striking and after a few seconds the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: Delbert is unable to answer the bell giving Kelvin the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Ralph moves in to clinch and the fighters work back against the cage. Ralph fires in a few shots to the head and then takes the fight to the ground ending on top. CJ immediately starts working back up to his feet and Ralph locks in a guillotine and falls back to the mat pulling guard. CJ throws a few shots to the body before getting his head free and the fighters work back to their feet where CJ lands a couple knees to the body, Ralph answers back with a couple knees to the body and CJ lands a couple solid foot stomps. The fighters continue working for control against the cage, Ralph lands a few shots to the body and CJ lands a knee to the head. The fighters exchange a knee to the leg and then CJ lands a knee to the body, CJ then hammers in several punches to the body. CJ hammers in several more punches to the ribs and body and Ralph starts holding the cage to keep from going to the ground, the ref steps in to make him let go but he doesnt so the ref starts to separate the fighters and Ralph verbally submits giving CJ the TKO victory and another notch in his undefeated streak making his record 15-0.
