Warrior Fighting Challenge May 6 - 2006 - Middlesboro, KY

Warrior FC brought their brand of MMA to middlesboro and the show rocked the house! Congratulations to Josh Musick on winning the GNP Fighter Of The Night Award and to all the other fighters who won their bouts. Thanks to Jimbo and the Warrior FC crew for having us at the show and making us feel at home as always, thanks to all the fighters who stepped in the cage to put on an awesome show for the fans and special thanks to all the fans for coming out to support WFC and the fighters.

Brandon Bell vs John Dillman
ROUND 1: The fighters clinch up and exchange a few knees as they work for control, John drives Brandon back against the cage and begins to take him to the mat but gets trapped in a guillotine, as the fighters hit the ground John gets free, takes full mount and immediately goes for an arm bar, Brandon sits up on his knees and slams John to the ground 3 times before getting his arm free and taking side mount. John backs out and gets to his feet trapping John in a guillotine as the fighters go back to the ground on their knees, John then puts Brandon on his back and the fighters roll a few times working for control ending with John on his knees and Brandon with side control. Brandon hammers in a couple knees to the body and then moves in for back control, Brandon then rolls John over takes full mount and begins to hammer in shots to the head until John taps to the strikes giving Brandon the TKO victory.

Wilferd Brittain vs Willie Smith
ROUND 1: Willie comes out swinging and throwing kicks, the fighters clinch up and as Willie attempts to take Wilferd down, it gets reversed and Wilferd lands on top. Wilferd steps over to full mount and begins to hammer in a few shots to the head but Willie muscles Wilferd off him and reverses control dumping Wilferd on his back. Wilferd uses the momentum to roll Willie to his back again, as Wilferd postures up to begin hammering in shots Willie backs out and takes a leg driving in putting Wilferd on the mat once more. Wilferd works to his knees and the fighters stand and push off as the action continues on their feet. Wilferd moves in landing a shot to the head and backs out, Willie closes in clinching and drives Wilferd against the cage. Wilferd lands a couple shots to the head before Willie scores a hip toss taking the fight to the ground and then both fighters stand right back up as the action continues. The fighters circle and Willie closes in but gets pushed off by Wilferd, Wilferd then moves in and hammers a couple shots to the head causing Willie to turn away giving up and causing the ref to step in giving Wilferd the TKO victory.

Eric Sheperd vs Curtis Mills
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Curtis closes in and Eric ducks under scoring a take down slamming Curtis to the mat. The fighters begin to roll working for control on the mat and then pop back to their feet in a clinch where Curtis hammers in a couple uppercuts as the fighters push out from the clinch and start to circle once more. Curtis moves in and eats a big right to the head that rocks him and he clinches up driving Eric against the cage. Eric lands a knee in the clinch and Curtis latches on and attempts a throw taking the fight to the ground with Eric landing on the bottom. Eric closes Curtis in his guard and as Curtis hammers in a few shots Eric locks in a triangle choke but Curtis picks him up and slams himself free landing in side control where he begins to hammer in shots to the head. Eric weathers the storm and from the bottom gets control of an arm and flips Curtis to his back and extends the arm causing Curtis to tap giving Eric the submission victory.

Steven Smith vs Eddie Marsee
ROUND 1: Steven comes in swinging but Eddie meets him center ring and lands a couple shots before clinching up and taking his back where he picks up Steven and slams him to the mat. Eddie then postures up and begins the GROUNDNPOUND until Steven taps to the strikes giving Eddie the TKO victory.

Jay Page vs Chris Huffman
ROUND 1: Jay comes out and throws a jab, Chris swings and Jay ducks under and shoots for a take down but Chris sprawls out and muscles Jay back against the cage. Chris drops a couple shots to the head as Jay continues to drive for the take down, Chris then moves around taking Jay's back and drops in a few solid shots to the body before Jay rolls and pulls guard. Chris postures up and hammers in a couple shots to the head and Jay pushes him back with his feet and takes control of an arm spinning Chris to his back, the fighters then scramble back against the cage where Jay stands and throws a shot to the head that misses and allows Chris the chance to get back to his feet. Chris then starts to drive in for a take down but Jay catches him in a guillotine choke and jumps back pulling guard, in seconds Chris is forced to tap giving Jay the submission victory.

Bobby Rudder vs Doug Rice
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and then meet center ring in a clinch, Doug latches in a side head lock and drops to the ground taking the fight to the mat, the fighters work for control on the ground and Bobby is eventually able to flip Doug on his back where he hammers in a couple shots before Doug is able to break free and back out and the fighters work back to their feet. Doug then locks in a guillotine and jumps back pulling guard but Bobby lands in full mount and after a few seconds is able to get his head free and posture up raining down the GROUNDNPOUND. After eating several shots to the head Doug is able to get his legs up and around Bobby's arms and roll out the back door but Bobby is moving quick and is able to stay on top and in control where he continues dropping heavy shots to the head causing Doug to tap to the strikes giving Bobby the TKO victory.

Tim Barnett vs Mark Nantz
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring each throwing and landing a kick, they circle and Tim attempts to move forward but Mark catches him with a front kick to the body causing him to step back. They continue moving in and throwing kicks at the same time and then Mark switches it up and lands a solid shot to the head that causes Tim to go stumbling back. Mark rushes in and the fighters clinch, go against the cage and then to the ground with Tim on top but trapped in a side head lock. The action dies off and after a few seconds the ref stands the fighters to restart the action and check a cut above Mark's eye. As the action starts back the fighters circle, Tim throws a jab and Mark answers with a leg kick They circle a bit more and Tim comes in with a straight kick and gets caught with a shot to the head, Tim then comes in and swings wild, misses and spins around getting caught in a clinch and the fighters go against the cage. Mark slaps on another head lock and Tim picks him up suplex style and slams him to the mat but is still trapped in the head lock. Tim tries to get free by rolling Mark over but is unsuccessful and after several seconds of no action the ref stands the fighters once more to get the action rolling. Tim comes across the ring with a jumping front kick, the fighters then clinch and push out and begin to circle. They meet center ring where Tim lands a solid shot to the head causing Mark to shoot in but drops down to soon and ends up on his knees with Tim dropping shots to the body as the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters circle and Mark attempts a spinning back fist that misses, they circle a bit more before clinching up where Tim locks in a side head lock and picks him up dumping him to the mat taking the fight to the ground. Tim keeps the head lock on and rolls Mark to his back, after a few seconds Tim starts hammering in shots to the body as he works to step over to full mount. Mark has a leg tied up and Tim is not able to take mount so he postures up and begins hammering in shots to the head until the ref steps in to stop the fight giving Tim the TKO victory.

Josh Musick vs Chucky Partin
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Chuck comes across swinging, Josh ducks under for a take down but Chuck's forward momentum takes Josh to the ground. Josh immediately attempts an arm bar but Chuck stands and pulls free, after a couple seconds Chuck backs out letting Josh stand and the action continues .Chuck comes back in and clinches driving in a knee to the body, Josh attempts to take the fight to the ground but Chuck sprawls out and the fighters go to their knees. Josh continues driving for the take down with a single leg and Chuck hammers in a couple shots to the body, Chuck then attempts a guillotine and falls back but the fighters roll and end back on their knees in a north south position. Chuck still has the choke locked in but Josh is defending it so Chuck decides to hammer in a shot to the body which gives Josh the chance to continue his take down and drives Chuck against the cage, Chuck starts to go down but turns giving up his back and Josh jumps on and starts to work a rear naked choke, Chuck turns back into it rolling Josh to his back and ending up in his guard where Josh holds him in close to prevent the striking, then as Chuck postures up to swing Josh slaps on another arm bar attempt causing Chuck to stand and pull free, backing out to allow Josh to get to his feet and the action continues. Josh closes in and as Chuck swings Josh ducks under and takes chuck to the ground ending in side mount. Josh hammers in a shot to the body and then steps over to full mount causing Chuck to turn giving up his back, Josh then jumps on sinking in his hooks and begins working a rear naked choke. Josh is unable to sink the choke and hammers in a few shots to the head and then attempts to sink the choke just as the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves and then Chuck moves in to swing and Josh takes him back to the ground, Chuck hammers in several shots to the body attempting to defend the take down but Josh keeps driving in and eventually puts Chuck on his back. Josh then steps over to full mount, Chuck rolls giving up his back attempting to avoid the strikes and Josh takes its attempting to sick a rear naked choke, Josh is unable to sink the choke and just postures up and begins pounding in shots until the ref steps in to stop the fight giving Josh the TKO victory.

BJ Hickson vs John Mitchell
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and BJ comes in with a couple kicks to the body and then the fighters come together and exchange a few shots before they clinch and begin working for control. After several seconds working for control the fighters go to the ground with John ending up on top where he hammers in a few shots to the head. BJ then rolls to his back to avoid the strikes and then works back to his knees and then to his feet, BJ then drives in a couple knees to the body as he drives John back against the cage and the fighters separate. The fighters circle and throw out a few jabs before John comes back in and takes the fight to the ground putting BJ against the cage. John attempts a guillotine choke but BJ is able to get to his knees and reverse position putting John against the cage but is still trapped in the choke. BJ then works into the full mount and breaks free of the choke and hammers in a couple shots to the head causing John to turn giving up his back, BJ rides it out staying in control on the ground and then flips John onto his back once more and begins hammering in punches and elbows to the face until the ref steps in stopping the fight giving BJ the TKO victory.

Donnie Foister vs Christian Goins
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring and begin to slug it out, Donnie then drives Christian against the cage and hammers in several shots that drop Christian to the ground, Donnie then attempts to move in and finish the fight but Christian turns giving up his back and Donnie jumps on latching in a rear naked choke and rolling center ring to finish. Christian attempts to get free but after a few seconds is forced to tap giving Donnie the submission victory.

(Jason was at the event and weighed in but could not be found at fight time)??? Fight or flight, I assume he decided on the second of two choices.

Erick Jordan vs Jerry Burns
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Erick throws out a leg kick and then moves in with a left to the face, Erick moves in to throw another punch but Jerry drops in faking a take down attempt and the fighters begin to circle again. Erick throws a high round house but it barely connects so he moves in to clinch and attempts a hip toss judo throw but Jerry is able to block it and they work the clinch against the cage. Erick throws a couple knees and upper cuts and again goes for a judo throw this time hitting it right on and taking the fight to the ground trapping Jerry in a side head lock and landing in side control where he hammers in a few shots to the head. Erick lands several more shots to the head and then gets control of an arm and traps it between his legs and hammers in a couple more shots to the head. Erick then uses his leg and control of the arm to catch a sweet arm bar submission causing Jerry to tap and giving Erick the WFC LHW Championship.
