WFC Harlan April 1st - 2006
This was yet another awesome show put on by the WFC, with a variety of finishes it was an action packed night for the fans. I want to thank Jimbo for having us up and the fighters for stepping into the ring and giving their all to entertain the fans with their hard fought competitions.
Congratulations to Troy Dollar on winning the GNP Fighter Of The Night and to CJ McVey on retaining his championship belt in a great main event fight.

Brandon Bell VS Mark Buell
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring and it is Brandon connecting first with several kicks to the body as he circles the cage, Mark then comes in swinging landing a couple shots to the head then backs off as the fighters circle a bit more. Mark lands a couple more shots to the head with the stick and move assault before Brandon shoots in driving Mark against the cage. Both fighters land a couple knees from the clinch before Brandon sweeps Mark taking him to the ground, Brandon steps over to full mount but before he can unload Mark reverses control putting Brandon on his back. Brandon tries to hold Mark in close to prevent the striking but as Mark works from the guard he is able to land a few shots here and there from above. Mark continues to land a few shots but Brandon is defending well from the bottom and limiting the damage as they finish out round 1 on the ground.
ROUND 2: The fighters meet center ring and exchange a few shots to the head before separating and beginning to circle, Mark seems to be setting the pace as he keeps moving forward while swinging for the fence and Brandon is fending him off with jabs and staying clear of the wild shots. Mark comes in and Brandon meets him as the fighters clinch up, the fight goes against the cage and as Brandon attempts to take the fight to the ground Mark steps over ending up on top in full mount. Brandon sits out putting Mark against the cage but Brandon has been trapped in a guillotine choke, Mark moves off the cage and falls to his back attempting to finish via the choke but after several shots to the head Brandon is able to pull free of the choke and lands a few more shots to the head from Mark's guard. Brand tries to create distance but ends up getting swept to his back as Mark reverses position but Brandon holds him in close to prevent the striking. After several seconds on the ground with Brandon holding tight and throwing a couple light shots from the bottom and Mark attempting to gain control and rain down shots from above the bell rings ending round 2.
ROUND 3: The fighters meet center ring for the final round, Mark comes in and connects first, Brandon throws a straight kick to the Bobby and the begin to circle a bit more. Mark comes back in swinging and the fighters clinch up ending against the cage, Mark attempts to pull free of the clinch but BRandon chases him down getting back control and picking Mark up taking him to the ground and immediately starts working for a rear naked choke by landing a few shots to the head and working for better control before locking in the choke and rolling to his back. Mark defends the choke by controlling an arm but after a few shots to the head Brandon is able to sink it in and get the submission victory.

Grant Ward VS Bobby Rudder
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Bobby moves straight in and Grant unloads with rights and lefts to the head as Bobby clinches, Grant then sinks in a guillotine choke and pulls guard taking the fight to the ground. Bobby is able to stand back up while still in the choke but takes a few body shots along the way and then tries to muscle Grant to the ground but Grant stays on his feet with the choke still locked in. Bobby pushes Grant against the cage and the fighters exchange a few knees but Grant is still working the choke attempting to finish the fight. Grant finally releases the choke but they stay clinched up, Bobby throws a shot to the head and Grant ducks under spinning bobby around and taking his back sinking in a rear naked choke, Bobby attempts to roll out but is forced to tap giving Grant the submission victory.

Troy Dollar VS MIke Epperson
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Troy comes in swinging and then throws a leg kick that connects. Troy then throws another leg kick followed by a front kick as the fighters circle. Mike attempts to come in with a couple jabs but the fighters clinch up for a second before Troy pushes out and continues to circle throwing shots to the head and stepping back out. Mike comes in with a couple shots to the head but they are blocked as Troy continues to control the fight standing and banging it out. Troy throws another front kick pushing Mike back and then comes in with both barrels blazing as he connects with several shots to the head, Mike answers back with a couple of his own and the fighters clinch up, Mike gets a side head lock and presses Troy onto the cage but Troy is able to pull free and as he circles out throws a shot to the head. Troy continues working the stand up landing shots at will, Mike is trying to block but the shots are coming in to fast, Troy then lands one that rocks Mike and sends him staggering against the cage, Troy moves in landing straight right/left combinations until Mike drops to his knees and the ref stops the fight giving Troy the TKO victory.

Mark Tyler VS Mark Nantz
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring, exchange and Nantz pulls guard taking the fight to the ground. Tyler gets into side mount and Nantz locks in a head lock, Tyler starts hammering in shots to the head to get free and once he does he locks in a front choke from the top causing Nantz to tap giving Tyler the submission victory in under a minute.

Paul Husky VS Brandon Turpin
ROUND 1: Both fighters meet center ring and throw a kick at the same time, Brandon goes to the ground and Paul rushes in as he is starting to get to his feet, Paul takes his back and slings him back to the ground attempting to sink a rear naked choke along the way. After a few seconds Brandon is able to turn out but ends up on his back with Paul in the full mount where he begins to hammer in the GROUNDNPOUND, Brandon is able to roll out from under the mount but gives up his back once more and Paul tries for the rear naked choke once more. Brandon defends the choke and is able to roll out putting Paul on his back and ending up in his guard but Paul is able to reverses it ending in full mount and GROUNDNPOUNDs his way to victory via ref stoppage.

Aaron Tremmel VS Cody Griffith
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Aaron shoots in for the clinch pressing Cody against the cage, Aaron then picks him up and slams him to the ground landing in his guard and begins working for control on the ground. Cody holds him in close to prevent the striking but after a few seconds Aaron is able to pull free and make it to side mount where he hammers in a couple shots to the head and a few knees to the body. Aaron then steps over to full mount and drops a couple shots to the head before Cody turns giving up his back, Aaron stays in side control as Cody works to his knees and then to a full standing position where he drives Aaron onto the cage working to take him to the mat. Aaron then works off the cage locking in a side head lock and getting a hip toss to put Cody on his back once more, Aaron then steps into full mount and locks in a kimura causing Cody to tap giving him the submission victory.

Jeremy Long VS Sam Frith
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring, Sam connects with a shot to the head and the fighters clinch up and begin to work for control. Jeremy presses Sam against the cage and then takes the fight to the ground where he sinks in a front choke causing Sam to tap in seconds giving Jeremy the submission victory.

Kelvin Stokes VS Harley Hammit
ROUND 1: Kelvin charges in from the bell and Harley starts backing up, Kelvin has to chase Harley for a few seconds before catching up and hammering in a few shots to the head and Harley swings wild to answer back with a couple of his own before clinching up and pressing Kelvin against the cage. Harley has Kelvin in a side head lock and pressed against the cage but no shots are being thrown, as soon as Kelvin is able to circle out and get free of the head lock Harley decides he doesnt want any more and verbally submits the fight to Kelvin.

Hobert Cornett VS Charles Epperson
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Charles throws a front kick that misses and Hobert answers with one of his own that connects and the fighters continue to circle. Charles swings and Hobert ducks under and the fighters clinch up, Hobert pushes off landing a shot to the head along the way and they circle a bit more before Charles comes in missing with another shot to the head, Hobert ducks under and shoots driving Charles against the cage, Charles attempts to lock in a guillotine choke and falls to the mat pulling guard. Charles has the choke locked in tight but Hobert tucks his chin and hammers in a few shots to the body riding it out until he is able to free his head, Charles immediately gives up his back and Hobert sinks in a rear naked choke, rolls over and cranks away causing Charles to tap giving Hobert the submission victory.

Shane Howard VS Jake Mosely
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Shane connects first with a kick to the body and the fighters clinch up for a split second and then separate, Shane lands a solid shot to the head and Jake shoots in driving Shane against the cage, Shane pushes out off the cage and as Jake separates from the clinch throws a kick to the body. The fighters then come together in a slug fest exchanging shots to the head and ending in a cinch, Jake drives in and Shane locks in a guillotine choke falling back pulling guard, Jake tries to escape landing a few shots to the body and a couple knees but the choke is locked in and Jake is forced to tap giving Shane the submission victory.

Andrew Earles VS Derrick Tendill (kickboxing)
I dont have video of this fight so am working from memory and my notes.
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin circling, Both fighters come out throwing a few jabs and kicks, Derrick connects early on with a shot to the head but Andrew seems unfazed by the shot, Andrew controls the fight landing a few shots at will and taking all Derrick has to throw. Mid round Andrew catches a kick and dumps Derrick to the mat, after the restart Andrew lands several kicks to the body and leg, the fighters clinch up and Derrick turns giving up his back, Andrew jumps up coming down with a superman punch and the fighters separate continuing the fight with Andrew in control at the end of round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves and begin round 2, Andrew starts out with a couple more superman punches that miss, Andrew stays in control of the fight landing a couple solid shots to the head before catching another kick and dumping Derrick to the mat again but this time looses a point for it. After the restart Derrick comes in and clinches up, Derrick throws a couple knees but the ref separates them since it was kickboxing and knees not allowed, Andrew comes back in with yet another superman punch that misses. the fighters circle and Andrew comes in swinging pressing Derrick against the cage and dropping him to the mat, After Derrick gets back to his feet Andrew closes in again hammering in several uppercuts causing the ref to step in and give the TKO victory to Andrew via ref stoppage.

Shan Tester VS Kyle Perkins
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Shawn comes in swinging, Kyle clinches up and attempts a guillotine falling back to the mat but Shawn is able to get free in seconds and as Kyle turns giving up his back Shawn sins in a rear naked choke causing Kyle to tap giving Shawn the submission victory in only 16 seconds.

Jeff Chapman VS Matt Frazier
ROUND 1: Jeff throws first and the fighters clinch and begin working for control, Most of the round is spent in the clinch, Jeff throws several knees to the body and a few shots to the body while the fighters work the clinch muscling each other around the cage working for control. Late in the round Matt presses Jeff against the cage and with a body lock drops back to the mat taking the fight to the ground. Jeff immediately rolls over to top control and starts landing a few shots to the head while working for better control on the ground. Matt holds him in close to prevent the damage but is taking a few shots when the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: Matt comes in and the fighters clinch up and begin working for control, Jeff throws several more knees and body shots from the clinch and about mid round Jeff locks in a guillotine and drops back pulling guard. Jeff attempts to score the submission but Matt is able to pull his head free and takes cross side control but Jeff has him held in close to prevent any striking, after several seconds Matt is able to pull free and steps over to full mount but Jeff has him held in close again so Matt begins attempting a front smoother choke but is unable to score the submission before the bell sounds ending round 2.
ROUND 3: Matt comes in and again clinches up driving Jeff against the cage, Jeff throws a few knees to the body and Matt answers back a couple of his own and the fighters finish out the round in the clinch sending the fight to the judges.

BJ Hickson VS Joe Cottrell
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, BJ throws a couple loose leg kicks that fall short and then the fighters meet center ring and begin to slug it out with both landing several shots to the head. The fighters separate and Joe comes back in and lands a solid shot to the head, BJ answers back and the fighters clinch up with Joe pressing BJ against the cage. BJ turns off the cage and pushes out of the clinch and the fighters circle as they begin the action once more, BJ lands a couple kicks to the body as they circle and a shot to the head as the pace slows a bit and Joe is dropping his hands looking a little wore out. The fighters continue to circle, BJ lands a couple kicks to the leg and throws out a couple loose jabs but most is blocked by Joe as the round continues. BJ continues to push the fight and Joe back stepping to stay out of reach, Joe comes in swings and the fighters exchange a few solid shots before pushing off and circle each other once more. BJ lands a kick to the body and a shot to the head, BJ then comes in with a flurry of punches and the fighters begin to exchange when the bell sounds ending round 1. Joe is unable to continue with round 2 giving BJ the TKO victory.

Marco Hopkins VS John Taylor
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Marco comes in and lands a solid shot on the chin, John drops in and tries to clinch but Marco defends the clinch hammers in a couple uppercuts and slings John against the cage and on the mat. After a couple seconds on the mat Marco stands to restart the action and the ref calls a time out to check the cut above John's eye and the fight gets stopped giving Marco the win via doctor stoppage.

CJ McVey VS Mike Walbright
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and the championship battle begins! The fighters meet center ring and begin to slug it out toe to toe, each fighter landing several shots looking for the quick knockout, they then clinch up as CJ pushes Mike against the cage and drives in a couple knees to the body, Mike lands a shot to the side of the head as he pushes off the cage and circles out but the fighters stay in the clinch and continue to blows. CJ pushes Mike back against the cage and then throws a uppercut as he pushes off and out of the clinch. Mike comes back in to clinch up and CJ forces him back onto the cage hammering in a couple shots to the side of the head once there, Mike throws a couple knees to the body and a couple shots to the ribs, CJ answers back with a solid left to the face, a couple uppercuts to the head and a knee to the face. Mike throws a few shots to the head and CJ answers with one as the slug fest continues against the cage. Over the next several seconds each fighter lands several shots to the head and body before the action slows and they continue to work the clinch against the cage, as the fighters work their way around the cage Mike scores a heel trip sending CJ to the ground but CJ pushes off and immediately stands bringing the fight back to their feet. CJ moves in and the fighters clinch up and start working for control, CJ presses Mike against the cage, CJ lands a couple shots to the head and Mike answers back with a couple knees to the body, CJ steps back and hammers in a couple shots to the head and then presses Mike back against the cage continuing to work the clinch. CJ hammers in several more shots to the head while working the clinch as the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves and Mike comes in with a front kick and then lands a shot to the head, the fighters clinch up and Mike throws a couple knees to the body as CJ presses him against the cage, CJ then lands several knees to the body before pushing out of the clinch, Mike comes back in swinging and CJ answers back with four solid shots in a row that drop Mike for the KO giving CJ the victory as he retains his super heavyweight championship.
