Tri STate MMA & Warrior Fighting Challenge March 11 - 2006
First I want to thank Kenny Diamond & Jimbo Collins for making us feel welcome and at home, next I want to congratulate all the fighters who stepped up into the cage to entertain the fans and compete against one another, finally I want to give a huge shout out to all the fighters who won their fights and to all the fans who came out to support the sport and the fighters.
Even though a few fighters bailed at the last minute leaving Kenny Diamond to have to make some last minute changes the event turned out great. There were 2 championship matches on the card along with a few fighters coming from the ABJK and Team Gurgel schools ready to step into the cage.

Kenny Moore's Biggest Fan!

Beverly Horin VS Justin Parks
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to slug it out, both fighters landing shots to the head as they circle, Justin turns away and it gives Beverly a chance to rush in and press him against the cage, Beverly locks in a head lock and scores a hip throw taking the fight to the ground with Justin on top but still trapped in the headlock. Beverly gets to his feet but Justin has locked his legs around one arm so it turns into a fireman carry type pick up where Beverly falls to his back slamming Justin into the mat and ending in full guard on top of Justin where he begins to hammer in a few shots to the head. Justin tries to escape and is able to back out and get to his feet but Beverly rushes in taking his back and locking in a rear naked choke, he falls back and in seconds Justin is forced to tap out giving Beverly the first victory of the night.

Jason Carrier VS Joseph Mathis
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Joseph comes in swinging and Jason ducks under, gets a solid grip on Joseph and takes him to the ground. Immediately Jason takes his back and starts working a rear naked choke but Joseph is able to defend so Jason keeping his hooks in starts pounding away with shots to the side of the head to loosen him up. Jason attempts the choke again and works around to side control, Joseph is able to work to his feet where Jason lands a solid knee to the face, Joseph starts to work for a take down and Jason pulls guard as the fight goes to the ground. Jason starts to reverse control and roll Joseph to his back but the fighters end up working to their feet with Joseph trapped in a head lock where Jason lands another knee to the head. The fighters work onto the cage where Jason lands a few grazing head shots and a foot stomp but the ref decides to break the fighters to restart the action. Jason comes in and lands a solid body kick that doubles over Joseph and then hammers in a couple uppercut shots to the head, Joseph backs away and as he comes back in Jason lands another solid kick to the body causing Joseph to back out again. Joseph comes in a once more and swings but Jason ducks under scoring a takedown putting Joseph on his back but Joseph immediately turns giving up his back trapping Jason in a head lock along the way, Jason hammers in a couple shots to the head and then lands several knees to the body but the ref says knees to the body are not allowed which was a first for me in Kentucky. Jason then steps over taking Joseph's back and works his head free, Jason then sits up and starts raining down shots to the head before going in for the rear naked choke and causes Joseph to tap giving Jason the victory via submission.

Aaron Houser VS Chris Covey
ROUND 1: Chris comes out with his hand out to touch gloves but Aaron decides not to and just shoots straight in catching Chris off guard, the fighters clinch up and the fight goes to the ground with Aaron landing in the full mount where he begins to hammer in shots to the head. Chris attempts to buck and roll free but Aaron turns him toward the cage and grabs hold of the fence to use it as leverage to keep him pinned down as he hammers in more shots to the head. Chris is able to turn away from the fence but Aaron continues hammering in punches and elbows to the head as Chris scrambles to get free. Aaron keeps bringing the GROUNDNPOUND landing several shots to the head and some heavy elbows to the face causing Chris to tap out to the strikes giving Aaron the victory via submission.
Aaron Houser DEF Chris Covey RD 1 Tap to strikes

Jamie Toney VS Chancelor Edmonson Grappling
ROUND 1: Jamie totally controlled the entire match in very impressive fashion as he scored the first submission in just over a minute with a straight arm bar triangle and then the second in about 1:30 with a triangle choke. I would love to see Jamie in a full blown MMA match up to see if his striking skills are anywhere near the impressiveness of his ground game, he moved with a fluid motion and stayed in control from beginning to end winning the match 2 - 0
Jamie Toney DEF Chancelor Edmonson Grappling 2 - 0

Jason Cable VS Todd Beringer
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Jason comes in swinging first throwing a jab and kick to the body both of which fall short, Todd comes back shooting in for a clinch landing a couple shots to the head as he presses Jason against the cage. As the fighters work for control Todd hammers in a few more shots to the head, Jason pushes his way out landing a knee to the head as the work to the other side of the cage, Jason then reverses control putting Todd against the cage, Todd locks in a guillotine and Jason throws a couple knees to the legs before he pulls his head free and Todd rolls out putting him back against the cage. The fighters work off the cage to the center of the ring both landing a couple shots to the head, Jason then lands a big knee to the face that rocks Todd and a second later he drops to his knees, Jason locks in a guillotine choke and Todd taps out giving Jason the victory via submission

Tony lands a few shots to the body while he is sprawled out and then sinks a guillotine and rolls back sending Cody up and over with Tony landing in side control and Cody on his side defending shots to the head. The fighters work into a north south position and Brandon starts hammering in shots to the head and then holds tight for a few seconds and the ref decides to stand the fighters and restart the action. Brandon comes in and Jeremy lands a knee to the head as Brandon shoots driving Jeremy against the cage, Jeremy has a head lock but Brandon still picks him up slamming him to the mat, Jeremy keeps control of the head and then hip tosses Brandon on the ground reversing the position, Brandon attempts an arm bar but Jeremy just stands picking him up and slamming him back to the mat, Brandon keeps control of the arm and rolls back cranking away until Jeremy taps giving Brandon the submission victory.
