Recently, UFC lightweight contender Kenny Florian has been making it well known that he wants to meet Roger “El Matador” Huerta next inside the octagon:

“Roger Huerta’s got a lot of juice right now. He’s a big name right now in the division and in the sport. And right now I’ve got a little win streak going, and I’d love to fight him. I think (Huerta’s) an exciting fighter, and those are the kind of fighters that I want to fight…And I think it would be an amazing fight for the fans. I don’t think there would be many arguments for saying the winner of that fight would be a No. 1 contender.”

Apparently Florian just may get his wish, as earlier in the week MMA Madness reported that Roger Huerta is scheduled to return to action in August at UFC 87 against a to-be-named opponent. Florian vs. Huerta is definitely a dream match up in my mind, but I guess we will have to wait and see if the powers that be make it a reality.

Fans will also get to see more of Kenny Florian at UFC 83, where he will be filling in for an absent Joe Rogan. It seems that Joe Rogan was committed to a previous engagement on that date, and so Florian will assume commentating duties alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Goldberg. This will be Florian’s second appearance in the broadcast booth following his commentating of The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale’s main event between Huerta and Clay Guida.

thats a tough one to try and pick the winner, florian looked very good against lauzon. I was more impressed with florian in that fight than with huerta in his fight with guida.

yea but other than the guida fight though huerta has been dominant...he's just so well conditioned and doesnt ever let up on the pace, i'll never forget that garcia fight it was a war from start to finish and florian just doesnt know the meaning of the word quit...he sometimes finds himself in very dangerous situations with people getting submission attempts on him but he always finds a way out and keeps fighting i mean he just has soo much heart to go with his ability, it should make for a crazy fight
