I was on hand for yet another great show put on by the KFC. With 13 fights on the card including GNP's own Grandpa Reaper stepping into the cage it was an exciting night of fights. Only 1 fight went past the first round with the winner of that fight winning the GNP Fighter Of The NIght Award. There were submissions, tap outs to strikes and referee stoppages making for a very exciting night of MMA action. I want to thank Jimmy MC for a great show and as always for making GNP fell welcome and at home. I want to give a special shout out to the fighters for stepping into the cage and putting on a great show for the fans and most of all thank the fans for coming out on a bitter cold night to support the fighters.

Donny Wallace VS Jonathan Hines
ROUND 1: Donny charges in at the bell and catches a knee but doesnt stop and drives for the take down putting Hines on his back. Donny works for position going from guard to half guard to side control and then to full mount where he postures up and begins the GROUNDNPOUND. Hines tries to turn away giving up his back, DOnny attempts to lock in a rear naked choke but Hines turns back out of it reversing control and putting Donny on his back. In just seconds Donny rolls Hines to his back again and from full mount begins the GROUNDNPOUND once more causing Hines to tap out to the strikes giving Donny the first victory of the night via TKO.

Chad Hinkle VS Josh Delrosa
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Chad attempts a spinning back fist and then a roundhouse kick but neither connect. Josh throws a shot to the head and Chad throws one in return that connects, the fighters swap a couple shots to the head and Chad lands a leg kick before Josh steps back and the fighters begin to circle once more. Both fighters throw a couple shots that fall short as they circle before Josh lands a low blow causing the ref to step in and give Chad a chance to recover, after several seconds Chad gives the nod and is ready to restart the action. Josh comes out swinging and chad answers back landing a few blows that drives Josh back against the cage where he falls to one knee, Josh stands back up and Chad gets him in his grips from behind. Josh throws a couple elbows behind his head and the fighters separate and begin to circle again. Chad lands a reverse kick to the mid section and follows up with a solid shot to the head, the fighters circle a bit more with Chad throwing a couple shots that connect and Josh throwing out a few jabs that fall short. Chad comes back in lands a shot which starts off a slugfest between the fighters that ends with Chad connecting with a solid shot that drops Josh to the mat. Chad rushes in and takes side mount where he lets loose with the GROUNDNPOUND until the ref steps in to stop the fight giving Chad the victory via TKO ref stoppage.

Chris Cruise VS Jim Elder
ROUND 1: The fighters touched gloves and then let the leather fly in a slugfest that ended in Chris dropping Jim to the mat, Chris continued to throw shots to the head from the mount as Jim worked through it and made his way back to his feet where he used a double leg take down to put Chris on his back. Jim steps over to full mount and returns several of the shots he had taken just seconds earlier. Chris backs out and reverses the position putting Jim on his back once more and starts to GROUNDNPOUND once more, Jim turns giving up his back and Chris continues to pound in the shots until the ref steps in to stop the fight and give Chris the victory via TKO in an all out display of GROUNDNPOUND by both fighters.

Rich Ferrell VS Tommy Barber
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Rich lands a combination and the fighters clinch up. Tommy lands a close shot from the clinch and Rich presses him against the cage where the fighters start working for control, Tommy circles out pressing Rich against the cage and lands a couple knees to the legs. Rich works off of the cage and tries to take down Tommy from the clinch, the fighters go to one knee but work back to their feet where Rich lands a couple knees of his own, after a few seconds the fighters push off and separate, Rich comes back in with a leg kick and the fighters clinch back up, Tommy lands a solid shot to the head that breaks the clinch, they circle and Tommy throws a couple leg kicks followed by a shot to the head.The fighters clinch back up center ring and Rich jumps up pulling guard taking the fight to the ground landing on his back. Tommy moves Rich over to the cage, landing a couple shots to the head along the way, Rich attempts an arm bar but Tommy pulls free and throws a couple more shots to the head before Rich stands back up eating a shot to the head on his way up. Rich throws a leg kick and shoots taking Tommy down to the mat landing in half guard. Rich steps over to full mount and starts the GROUNDNPOUND, Tommy rolls giving up his back and RIch sinks in a rear naked choke locking it in tight, in seconds Tommy taps giving the victory to Rich via submission.

Jason Lindberger VS Jason Carrier
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Carrier throws a leg kick that misses then charges in swinging missing those shots as well, Lindberger clinches and Carrier throws a knee to the body driving Lindberger back on the cage and starts working for a take down. Lindberger pushes off landing a shot to the head on the way apart, then as Carrier comes back in Lindberger lands a solid kick to the body. Carrier comes back in swinging landing a couple solid shots to the head driving Lindberger back on the fence again, Lindberger attempts to go for a waist lock but Carrier steps over to mount driving Lindberger to the mat against the cage where Carrier lands a couple shots to the head, Lindberger works Carrier into his guard and holds him in tight to avoid the striking. Carrier stands up, steps back and motions for Lindberger to stand with him, The fighters circle, Carrier throws a leg kick and then charges in swinging, Lindberger ducks under and clinches then takes Carrier down to the mat. From half guard Lindberger starts working for control landing a couple shots to the head, Lindberger then postures up dropping in a couple more solid shots to the head. Carrier tries to pull him in tight but Lindberger gets free and continues to pound away shots to the head and body. Lindberger stands to get free of half guard then drops back down into side mount raining in several more shots to the head causing Carrier to turn giving up his back, after a few seconds Lindberger jumps on his back sinking in a rear naked choke, Lindberger rolls to his back locking in the choke causing Carrier to tap giving Lindberger the win via submission.

Justin Moore VS Matt Haley
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Matt shoots in for a take down driving Justin down to the mat, Justin catches Matt in a guillotine on the way down and starts working the choke. Justin works his way back to his feet keeping the choke locked in, Matt picks him up slamming him back to the mat putting Justin on his back again. Justin is still working the choke and Matt throws a couple shots to the side of the head trying to escape it, after a few seconds Matt gets his head free then stands up over top of Justin, Matt grabs a leg and falls back attempting a heel hook but Justin sits up and hammers in a few shots trying to get his leg free. After a few seconds Justin grabs a foot and starts to go for a heel hook of his own. Matt lets go of the foot and sits up to try and get Justin to release his foot but Justin turns rolling Matt to his back and ending up in side control, Justin lands several shots to the head, Matt tries to roll out but Justin keeps in control landing a few more shots as he works the ground game. Justin lands a few more shots to the head before stepping over to full mount and postures up raining down several solid shots to the head causing Matt to tap giving Justin the TKO victory via GROUNDNPOUND.

Aaron Grace VS Bill Moore
ROUND 1: The fighters meet center ring, Bill ducks in for a double leg and scores a take down putting Aaron on his back. Aaron holds him in close to avoid the striking, after several seconds Bill gets free and lands a few shots before Aaron sits up and works into north south position on their knees, after trying to get to his feet for a few seconds Aaron decides to fall back pulling guard taking the fight back to the mat. Aaron attempts a triangle but Bill stands out dropping a couple shots to the head as he jumps back down on top of Aaron, Bill lands a couple shots to the head giving Aaron the chance to sit back out and back into north south position, Aaron grabs a leg driving to put Bill on his back but Bill sprawls driving a couple shots to the body while defending the take down. Aaron continues working the single leg take down and eventually drives Bill to his back on the mat with a heel trip, Aaron works from side control to full mount where he starts in with the GROUNDNPOUND until Bill taps to the strikes giving Aaron the TKO victory.

Mitch Keiser VS Jason Hensley
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Mitch swings a looping left that connects and rocks Jason, Mitch comes back in swinging and the fighters exchange a few shots before Mitch grabs a single leg driving Jason into the cage and on to the mat. Mitch drops a few solid shots before Jason pulls him in to stop the striking, Mitch pulls free dropping several more shots, Jason attempts an arm bar but Mitch pulls free and starts dropping short elbows from side control. Mitch drops several more forearm shots mixed in with a few hammer fist shots and a few straight rights to the head, Jason tries to cover up but Mitch just continues on with the GROUNDNPOUND until the ref steps in to stop the fight giving Mitch the victory which he dedicated to all the 40 + year old men out in the crowd.

ROUND 1: Eddie shoots straight in scoring a take down putting Hicks on his back, Hicks tries to defend but Eddie starts raining in wild shots to the head. Hicks is finally able to pull Eddie into his guard and pull him in close to stop the strikes, after a few seconds Eddie pulls free and drops a few more shots to the head and then stands over Hicks still in his guard and drops a few more. Hicks is able to pull Eddie back in once more but Eddie continues with body, body, head shots with Hicks up against the cage on his back. Hicks ties him up and after a few seconds the ref stands the fighters to restart the action. Eddie rushes back in swinging and landing a few shots, clinches up and takes the fight to the ground trapping Hicks in a guillotine and landing on his back, Hicks tries to break free landing a few shots to the body and eventually gets free, Eddie attempts a triangle causing Hicks to defend and giving Eddie the chance to sweep putting Hicks on his back once more, Eddie then goes fro an arm bar but Hicks is able to pull free and now has Eddie on his back, Eddie lands a few shots from his back and is controlling Hicks hands to keep him from answering back with any shots, Eddie attempts a triangle causing Hicks to roll to his side, Eddie starts to work into the mount but attempts an arm bar instead but then gives it up and steps over to a standing full mount and starts raining down shots to the head. Hicks backs out and stands, Eddie traps him in a guillotine and falls back, in seconds Hicks taps giving Eddie the submission victory.

Luiz Rodriquez VS Albert Steinback
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Luiz comes in swings and clinches and the fighters push of and circle. Luiz comes back in with a knee and eats a solid shot to the face, Albert lands a few more shots to the face as Luiz comes back in for the clinch. Luiz lands a couple knees in the clinch then scoop slams Albert to the mat landing in side control. Albert pulls him in close and Luiz lands a few elbows to the ribs trying to break free, after a few seconds Albert rolls reversing control and putting Luiz on his back. After a few seconds Luiz starts landing a few shots from the bottom and Albert answers back with a few from above, Albert is in Luiz's guard but Luiz has him held close to avoid the striking. Albert pulls free and Luiz attempts to work a triangle, Albert stands to slam his way free but Luiz holds the triangle but does not have it locked in fully. Albert again tries to stand and slam his way free but Luiz keeps him in his guard and goes right back to the triangle, then from nowhere switches to an arm bar attempt but Albert again stands to try and slam his way free, again Luiz holds tight and doesnt let go. After 2 more slams Luiz lets go of the arm and pulls Albert back into his guard and starts working for the triangle again. Albert lands a couple shots to free himself but Luiz works through it and attempts another arm bar, again Albert tries to free himself by slamming Luiz but he holds tight working the arm bar. Albert throws a couple shots to the face to get free and Luiz pulls him back to his guard and starts trying the triangle once more. Albert finally pulls free and stands but its clear he doesnt want any of the ground game as he motions for Luiz to stand with him. Luiz throws a high kick, Albert answers with one but both fall short, Luiz answers back with a kick to the body that lands and then the fighters clinch, Luiz throws a knee to the body followed by a few more, Albert swings to the head as he pushes Luiz off, Luiz goes down and Albert moves in but again wants none of the ground game and lets Luiz stand once more. As the fighters go back at it Luiz lands a knee to the body. The fighters clinch and Albert works around to Luiz's back, after working a few seconds Albert gets a heel trip but lands on his back with Luiz on top. Luiz has side control hammers in a few shots to the head while controlling Albert's arm and the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves, Albert comes in to swing and Luiz ducks under gets a single leg take down and puts Albert on his back. Albert works back to his feet but Luiz keeps driving through with the leg returning ALbert to the mat and against the cage, Albert holds him in tight but Luiz lands a couple shots to the body, Albert then rolls giving up his back but as Luiz goes for it Albert reverses putting Luiz on his back. Luiz immediately starts working the triangle but Albert stays just out of reach, Luiz switches to an arm bar attempt but Albert rolls him to his back again and lands a couple shots to the head. Luiz lands a couple shots from the bottom and then starts back with the triangle with control of the arm, Luiz then switches and rolls into an arm bar and this time hits it just right forcing Albert to tap giving Luiz the win via arm bar submission.

Luke Monyhan VS Matthew Smith
ROUND 1: Luke comes in swinging, lands a couple solid shots to the head and the fighters clinch, Matt lands a knee to the body as the fighters work for control in the clinch and then Luke slings Matt to the mat taking the fight to the ground. The fighters get back to their feet but then it goes right back to the ground where Luke turns in getting back control and sinking in a rear naked choke. Matt tries to get free but Luke has his hooks in and not giving up back control, Luke flattens him out, lands a few shots to the head to soften him up then sinks the choke back in, in seconds Matt is forced to tap giving Luke the win via rear naked choke submission.

Jon Walsh VS Rob Nickerson
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Jon comes in strong clinching and pushing Rob against the cage. The fighters muscle each other around looking for control and its Jon getting a double leg take down putting Rob down against the cage. Jon moves into side mount and immediately starts working a kimura arm lock. Rob works hard to escape it but in the end its no use as the ref stops the fight due to submission giving Jon the victory via kimura.
