Gladiator Fighting Championship 5 Moorhead, KY April 18 - 2006

With 17 bouts on the card and a packed house this was sure to be a great night of action for the fans. I want to thank the Trotter brothers and the GFC crew for making GNP feel welcome and at home, I also want to tank all the fans who showed up to support and cheer on the fighters helping to add to the electricity and most os all thanks to the fighters for stepping into the ring to show off their skills and entertain the fans.

Congratulations to all the fighters on a great show and special congrats to all those who won their bouts

I also want to give a special shout out to Andy Bricker on winning both his fight and the GNP Fighter Of The Night Award.

Jeremy takes Rob down to the mat quick, after a few seconds stands bringing it back to their feet, Jeremy scores another takedown works into position and chokes Rob with his own arm gaining the win in a 1 point win or loose match.

ROUND 1: The fighters come out and circle, Donny comes in swings and misses, Aaron connects with one shot straight to the face and knocks Donny out cold gaining the victory in under 30 seconds.

Adam Sepuveda VS Parnell Barnett
ROUND 1: Adam swings first connecting with a shot to the head and then connects with another as the fighters clinch up. Parnell throws a couple uppercuts and a knee to the body from the clinch as the fighters work onto the ropes. Adam then takes the fight to the ground, ends up in full mount and starts working for a key lock, Adam jumps into side mount as he secures the arm lock and cranks away until Parnell is forced to tap giving Adam the victory via submission.

Tony Fisher VS Steve Layne Grappling
ROUND 1: The fighters lock up center ring and Tony scores a takedown, after a few seconds of working for control Tony takes full mount and begins working for the win. Layne is able to reverse control putting Tony on his back but that just opens Layne up for the arm bar that scores Tony the first point in a 2 out of 3 fall match up.
ROUND 2: The fighters meet center ring and TOny takes the fight to the ground immediately stepping over to full mount, Layne is able to reverse control putting Tony on his back after a few seconds Tony reverses and is back on top and soon works into full mount where he starts looking for a way to finish the match. Layne reverses putting Tony on his back once more, Tony has him held in close and attempts a front choke but Layne pulls away and shoulder slams Tony to the mat a couple times to try and free himself but Tony holds tight and the ref decides to stand the fighters to restart the action. Tony gets a heel trip taking the fight to the ground but ends up on the bottom, Layne has a side head lock but nothing is happening so the ref stands them once more as the clock ticks away. Tony shoots in scoring a take down but the fighters roll and end up on their knees in north south position, Layne works his arms in attempting a guillotine choke but Tony is able to roll through ending up on the bottom and mounted by Layne who tries to smoother Tony but after a few seconds the ref stands the fighters again once its clear the action has slowed and the smoother isnt going to work. The fighters clinch up and Tony scores another take down ending up on the bottom but with little time left the ref stands them after a few seconds of a stale mate, Tony scores yet another take down this time landing in side control but the bell sounds ending the time limit and giving Tony the victory with 1 - 0 submissions.

ROUND 1: The fighters circle throwing a few jabs before Andy shoots in for a take down, Trent sprawls out hammering in a few shots to the body before the fighters stand in a clinch, Andy throws a couple knees to the body as they work the clinch fighting for control. Trent throws a couple shots to the head as he pushes off out of the clinch and the fighters square off center ring. Andy comes back in to clinch pressing Trent into the corner before scoring a hip toss take down putting Trent on his back, the fighters are in the ropes so the ref moves them center ring and repositions them on the ground. Andy steps over from side control to full mount and begins to hammer in the GROUNDNPOUND until the ref stops the fight giving Andy the win via TKO.

Roy Rison VS Scott Huff
ROUND 1: Roy shoots in at the bell taking Scott to the ground, Scott attempts to lock in a guillotine as Roy steps over to full mount but Roy has his chin tucked and starts to hammer in shots to the body as he tries to pull his head free. After a few seconds Roy is able to get his head free and Scott holds him in close to prevent any striking but the fighters get tangled in the ropes so the ref moves the fighters center ring and restarts the fight on the ground with Roy in full mount. Roy continues to hammer in shots to the body as Scott holds in tight to prevent and strikes to the head, after a few seconds Roy is able to posture up and slams in several shots to the head causing Scott to turn and give up his back, Roy hammers in several more shots to the head before attempting to sink in a rear naked choke. A few seconds later and Scott is forced to tap giving Roy the victory via rear naked choke.

Brian Daniel VS Casey Johnson
ROUND 1: Casey connects first with a jab as the fighters circle, Brian comes back and hammers one to the face that buckles Casey's legs and he goes to the ground as Brian closes in and starts hammering in shots to the head as he goes down with Casey and ends in his guard. Casey holds on to try and recover but Brian keeps working dropping a few more shots before Casey grabs a leg sending brian to his back, Brian rolls back over reversing position again and hammers in a couple more shots to the face and then from nowhere Casey grabs an arm and rolls into an arm bar attempt. Casey cranks away and then for some reason lets go as if he thinks Brian has tapped out but no tapping has happened. Brian stands and drops a shot straight to the face as the ref tries to explain to Casey that there was no submission. and the ref stands the fighters to restart the action. The fighters circle as Brian presses the action trying to close in, Casey lands a jab and Brian closes in locking in a guillotine in the clinch, Brian attempts to crank it in standing and then muscles Casey to the ground and before they can end up on the mat Casey taps giving Brian the victory via submission.

ROUND 1: The fighters clinch up and Alex scoops Josh up and slams him to the mat as Josh attempts to lock in a guillotine choke. JOsh starts hammering in shots to the head from the bottom as Alex works for control in the guard. Alex returns a couple shots to the head but Josh lands more from the bottom to stay busy and keep Alex from gaining full control from the top. Josh then pulls Alex in close to slow the action and as Alex attempts to push away and stand Josh reverses control in a roll ending in full mount and hammers in a few shots to the head. Alex starts to give up his back and Josh attempts a rear naked choke but Alex is able to turn into it putting Josh on his back once again, the fighters work for control on the ground each landing a few shots as they work into the ropes so the ref stands the fighters and restarts the action. Josh lands a leg kick then closes in to clinch throwing a few shots to the head along with a knee to the body before taking Alex to the ground just as the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: Josh comes in and swings, Alex ducks under and clinches, Josh then attempts to sink in a guillotine as Alex tries to pick him up for a slam, after Alex hammers in a few shots to the body Josh jumps up locking in a standing guard to go along with the choke but Alex slams him to the mat making Josh release the choke but keeping Alex in the guard. Alex lands a few shots from above but Josh has him held in close to prevent the striking, after several seconds the ref stands the fighters to restart the action. Josh comes in swinging and lands several shots, the fighters clinch up and Josh throws several uppercuts followed by a knee to the body. Josh hammers in a couple more shots to the head before getting a take down via hip toss putting Alex on his back. Josh attempts to step over to full mount but Alex flips him on his back reversing control. Alex drops a couple heavy shots to the head before Josh is able to push him off and get back to his feet. The fighters clinch up again and exchange a few shots , Josh lands several knees and the fighters go to the ground with Alex landing on top in side control, Josh turns getting Alex in his guard where Alex drops a couple shots to the head just as the bell sounds ending round 2.
ROUND 3: The fighters touch gloves and circle, both fighters come in and clinch, Josh starts throwing uppercuts in the clinch with a few knees to the head, on the third knee Alex goes to the ground, Josh jumps on him and sinks in a guillotine with Alex on his back. Alex is able to pull his head free and gets a tight grip on Josh to prevent striking but after a few seconds Josh is able to posture up and throw a few shots to the head causing Alex to turn giving up his back, Josh sinks in a rear naked choke and flattens out, in just seconds Alex taps to the choke giving Josh the victory via submission.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Eddie shoots in but falls short and Glenn connects with a kick to the head to a downed fighter but immediately realizes his mistake and backs off apologizing. The ref allows Eddie to stand and the action restarts with a warning to Glenn. The fighters circle, Eddie throws a shot to the head and then shoots, Glenn pushes him off and to the ground and immediately jumps down on hi, takes full mount and begins the GROUNDNPOUND until Eddie taps out to the strikes giving Glenn the victory via submission.

ROUND 1: Greg comes out and connects first but Aaron hammers in a couple shots himself as the fighters clinch up, Aaron throws Greg to the mat and the fighters scramble to their feet but Aaron is able to muscle Greg back to the ground once more. Greg starts driving for a take down from his knees and Aaron locks in a guillotine and pulls guard but Greg gets his head free and starts working for control from the top. Aaron has a tight grip preventing striking but Greg is able to pull free, stands up and drops a few shots to the head. Greg lands a few more shots before Aaron is able to pull him back in and lock him in his guard and they work into the ropes as Greg pulls out once more and stands so the ref separates them and allows Aaron to stand as well and restarts the action. Aaron comes in connecting first and triggers a slugfest between the fighters as the exchange toe to toe ending in a clinch where Greg sinks in a guillotine and drops back pulling guard. Aaron hammers in a few shots to the body as they roll to their sides and after a few seconds is able to get his head free and end up in top position where he steps over to full mount and hammers in a few shots to the head. Greg turns giving up his back and Aaron attempts to sink a rear naked choke but Greg is able to defend as the fighters roll into the ropes. The ref moves the fighters center ring but keeps them on the ground and the action continues with Aaron having a body lock, both fighters throw a couple shots to the head before Greg is able to roll into the guard putting Aaron on his back. Aaron holds on tight to prevent striking as the bell sounds ending round one.
ROUND 2: Greg comes out, throws a leg kick and trips falling to the mat, Aaron goes in sinking a guillotine and pulling Greg into his guard as he falls back to the mat, Greg hammers in a few shots to the body trying to get free but Aaron has it locked in tight, after several more shots to the body Greg is able to pull his head free and drop a couple shots to the head, Aaron rolls out from the bottom an to his knees but Greg jumps on taking his back and locking in a rear naked choke, after sinking his hooks in Greg rolls to his back cranking on the choke causing Aaron to tap giving Greg the submission. victory.

The fighters roll working for control but in the end it is Anthony getting back control, locking in a rear naked choke and in seconds forcing Jim to tap giving Anthony the win via submission.

ROUND 1: The fighters circle, Andy comes in for a take down and scores a single leg putting Justin on his back, Justin turns giving up his back but immediately stands up with Andy still having a body lock which he uses to throw Justin with a picture perfect suplex, Justin stands and again Andy takes him down with a suplex and then the fighters work into the ropes ending with Andy standing on the judges table so the ref restarts them from their corners as the match continues. Justin shoots in but Andy sprawls out, as the fighters work into the corner Andy throws a couple knees to the body and one to the head before the push off out of the clinch. Justin comes in and connects with a shot to the head and the fighters clinch up, Andy throws another knee to the head and then drops down scoring a double leg take down putting Justin on the mat. Justin works to his feet but Andy still has control of the body and after pressing Justin into the corner takes him back to the mat once more but they work into the ropes once more and the ref has to move the fighters center ring and restart the action on the ground in north south position on their knees. Justin starts driving in to put Andy on his back and Andy sprawls out defending, the fighters work to their feet and push off to restart the action standing. Andy shoots in and the fighters work for control into the ropes and Andy falls through so the ref restarts the fighters standing. The fighters circle and Andy comes in swinging connecting with several shots to the head before the fighters clinch, Justin lands a knee to the body as he presses Andy against the ropes, Andy pushes out and the fighters work to the other side of the ring still in the clinch where they exchange a few more shots before the fight goes to the ground, Justin lands a couple shots to the side of the head as the fighters work out between the ropes just as the bell sounds ending round one.

Justin comes in swinging and lands a couple shots to the head before Andy clinches up taking Justin to the mat, Justin turns giving up his back and Andy attempts to take it but Justin tries to stand and they scramble back to the mat where andy still working for back control throws a couple shots to the head, Justin stands with his back into the corner and then the fighters go back to the ground in a north south position where Justin hammers a couple shots to the body and head but they work into the ropes again and the ref moves them back center ring in north south position. Andy immediately stands lands a shot to the head and then clinches up attempting a guillotine choke and pulling guard taking the fight back to the ground in the corner just as the bell sounds ending round two.
ROUND 3: The fighters touch gloves and begin the final round Justin comes in and eats a punch before they clinch up, Andy delivers several knees to the head before taking the fight to the ground with a single leg take down ending up with back control and dropping a few shots to the head. Justin stands and Andy drops down to attempt another single leg take down but Justin goes down on top dropping a few shots to the body as the fighters work into the ropes yet another time and the ref has to reposition them in north south position center ring. The fighters stand and work in the clinch to the corner, Andy drives in taking Justin back to the ground, Justin on his hands and knees and Andy in side control landing shots to the head, Justin turns in to north south position and starts driving forward but Andy sprawls as the fighters work back to their feet,Andy lands a knee to the head and then trips and falls through the ropes so the ref restarts them standing. Justin walks straight in and Andy lands a shot to the head before taking a leg and putting the fight back on the ground, Andy ends up on his knees with Justin on top dropping shots to the head and body but again they work into the ropes and the ref has to separate and stand the fighters. They meet center ring and Andy scores another take down and ending up in full mount against the ropes, Andy postures up and hammers in a few shots to the head causing Justin to turn and give up his back. Andy attempts to sink in a rear naked choke as the fighters roll and the bell sounds ending the round and sending the fight to the judges.

Brandon attempts to sink in a rear naked choke and rolls in place to lock it in but is unsuccessful so he sits back into full mount and hammers in a few more shots causing Matt to turn giving up his back again. Brandon goes for another rear naked choke sinking in his hooks and rolling to his back to lock it in. Matt attempts to escape but ends up on his back with Brandon in full mount once again, Matt throws a couple shots to the body before Brandon postures up and starts slamming in rights and lefts until Matt taps to the strikes giving Brandon the victory via submission.

Jack hammers in several shots to the head before Josh is able to pull him in his guard and close down to prevent striking. After a few seconds Josh is able to reverse control rolling Jack to his back and stepping over to full mount where he starts to hammer in a few shots to the head, Jack pulls him in close and attempts to buck free of the mount but Josh rides it out and drops a few more shots to the head. Josh pushes free and drops several more shots to the head and Jack is able to get a body lock and pull him close once more but Josh gets free again and continues the GROUNDNPOUND until Jack turns giving up his back and Josh sinks in a rear naked choke causing Jack to tap and give the victory to Josh via submission.
