Caged Combat Challenge I July 8 - 2006 Corbin, KY

The first pro event to be held in the state of Kentucky! Caged Combat Challenge has worked both very hard and very close with the state to bring pro MMA to Kentucky. Kimo was in attendance to catch the action live and action is what he got in a non stop night of great MMA. Congrats to all the fighters on a awesome show and a special shout out to Josh Musick on winning the GNP Fighter Of The Night Award.

Be sure to watch the site for future Caged Combat events as they have big plans for pro MMA in Kentucky. Thanks to all the fighters on a job well done, thanks to all the fans who came out to support the fighters and the sport and thanks to the Caged Combat crew for welcoming GNP and making us feel at home.

Sean Fredrick VS Zach Earles
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Zach moves forward and as Sean is backed against the cage he comes out swinging, Zach lands a shot to the head as Sean clinches up and drives him back against the cage, Sean lands a couple shots to the head and the fighters exchange a couple knees in the clinch as they begin working for control. The fighters exchange a few shots in the clinch as they keep working against the cage and then Zach pushes off and moves back in landing a couple solid shots to the head. Sean then clinches up again and drives Zach back against the cage and as Zach turns into the clinch Sean moves around and jumps up taking his back. Zach tries to roll through but Sean is locked on tight and sunk in a rear naked choke, just as the fighters hit the ground Zach is forced to tap giving Sean the submission victory.

Marcus Young VS Milt Watson
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Marcus moves in and starts swinging wildly landing several shots to the head, Milt tries swinging back but cant land anything through the flurry of Marcus's shots. Milt continues backing away as Marcus keeps moving forward landing shots to the face, Milt gets backed against the cage and connects with a solid shot that causes Marcus to take a step back but he moves right back in landing a few more shots to the face before Milt verbally taps out giving Marcus the TKO victory.

Jason Jones VS Adam Perry
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves, Adam moves in and eats a punch to the face but keeps moving in and the fighters clinch up and begin working for control., ADam lands a knee to the head that drops Jason to the ground where he jumps in and drops a few shots to the head before Jason is able to pop back up to his feet. Jason eats another knee to the head on his way back up but is still able to clinch up and take Adam down to the mat landing in his guard. Adam ties him up and lands a few shots from the bottom while restricting Jason from throwing to many punches as both fighters work for control. on the ground, Jason lands a few shots from the top but after a few seconds gets trapped in a head and arm choke. Jason throws a couple shots to the body and is able to break the choke, Jason then postures up and lands several shots to the head before Adam is able to pull him in close. Jason then stands and drops a solid shot to the head but it gives Adam a chance to push him off with his legs and get back to his feet, Jason immediately rushes back in working a double leg take down but Adam sprawls out and is able to reverse and put Jason on his back against the cage. Adam takes side control. and lands a few shots to the head but gets trapped in a head lock and is not able to gain any leverage as the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Adam throws a kick as Jason drops in and attempts a take down and the fighters clinch up and go back against the cage. Jason continues working for the take down and then Adam slaps on a guillotine choke and jumps up pulling guard and takes the fight to the ground. After a couple seconds Jason is able to get his head free but Adam holds him in close to prevent the striking, Jason lands a few shots to the body and the fighters exchange a few light shots to the head. The fighters continue working on the ground but the action is stalling out so the ref decides to stand the fighters to get things going again. Adam moves forward and Jason drops in taking a leg and begins working to get the fight to the ground, Adam hammers in a couple shots to the head as Jason drives to get the fight on the ground but Jason continues to work and is finally able to put Adam on his back. Jason works from half guard into full mount and begins dropping shots to the head, after a few shots Adam tries to block and Jason grabs an arm and rolls into an arm bar attempt but Adam rolls through putting Jason on his back and falling into his guard, stands up and drops a shot to the head just as the bell sounds and ends round 2.
ROUND 3: Adam comes straight ahead when the bell sounds but Jason drops down taking a double leg and brings the fight to the ground. Jason lands a couple elbows to the head as he works for control. and then steps over to full mount where he postures up and drops a few heavy shots to the head. Jason lands several punches and elbows to the head while Adam tries to escape the mount but Jason is able to stay in control. and finish out the round on top sending the fight to the judges score cards.

Michael Doughty VS Bobby Rudder
ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Michael throws out a leg kick that falls short and they continue to circle a bit before Michael rushes in to clinch up. Bobby locks in a guillotine and pulls guard taking the fight to the ground. Michael throws a couple shots to the body and then pushes off the fence and the fighters roll but end up back in the same position with Bobby on the bottom with the choke still locked in. Michael works hard to escape the choke and after breaking free of the full guard is able to get his head free, Michael then starts to hammer in a few shots to the head causing Bobby to turn and give up his back. Michael takes his back and after hammering in several shots to the head he locks in a rear naked choke, rolls to his back and in seconds Bobby is forced to tap giving Michael the submission victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Mark moves in with a jumping front kick but misses and eats a shot to the face, Mark comes back in with another kick that falls short and Anthony clinches up getting a body lock and takes Mark to the ground. Mark holds Anthony in close to prevent the striking but Anthony is able to break the guard and step over to full mount, Mark continues holding him in close but Anthony is able to land a couple shots and Mark turns giving up his back. Anthony sinks in his hooks and rolls to his back and starts working a rear naked choke, Mark throws a couple shots behind his head but Anthony locks in the choke and forces Mark to tap giving Anthony the submission victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Danny moves in swinging and clinches up pressing Chad back against the cage. Danny drops down getting leg control. and drives Chad to the ground, Chad lands a couple head shots on the way down but nothing to heavy. Chad holds Danny in close to prevent the striking as Danny works to free himself from half guard trying to make it over to full mount, Danny lands a couple shots to the head but after a few seconds the ref decides to stand the fighters and get the action going once more. The fighters circle a bit before Danny moves in to clinch and Chad backs him up with a shot to the head, Danny moves back in with a front kick to the body and then clinches up trying to take the fight to the ground, Chad lands a few shots to the head defending the take down but in the end Danny puts Chad on his back. Chad holds Danny in tight to prevent striking but after a few seconds Danny is able to break free and drops several shots to the head just before the bell sounds ending round 1.
ROUND 2: The fighters circle a bit before Chad moves in landing a few shots to the head, Danny clinches up and begins working to get the fight on the ground. Danny works the clinch driving Chad back against the cage, after a few seconds Chad throws a knee to the head just as Danny pushes off from the clinch and the fighters begin to circle once more. Chad moves back in swinging and the fighters exchange a couple shots before Danny presses him against the cage and then takes the fight to the ground landing on top. Chad holds him in close and the fight stalls so the ref moves in to stand the fighters, they start to circle and Danny moves in landing a solid shot to the face, Danny comes in again landing a shot to the body and head before clinching and driving Chad back up against the cage. The fighters begin to move off the cage and for some reason Chad verbally submits giving Danny the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, John moves in and Isaiah drops down to attempt a take down but John stands and drives in a few uppercuts to the face while defending the take down. Isaiah drives him back against the cage and a couple seconds later picks up and slams John to the ground. John holds him in close to prevent the striking but Isaiah works from half guard to full mount and then postures up and begins hammering in shots to the head until John taps to the strikes giving Isaiah the TKO victory.

John throws a couple more kicks that miss and Bill rushes in clinching up and driving John back against the cage. The fighters exchange a couple knees in the clinch but then Bill unloads several knees to the head before they split and Bill comes back in hammering in a couple solid shots to the head. Bill continues hammering in both punches and knees to the head as John is against the cage just trying to cover up, Bill steps it up landing several more shots causing the ref to stop the fight giving Bill the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, BJ lands a few leg kicks and then moves in and the fighters clinch up against the cage and exchange a few knees. Justin drops down taking a leg and putting BJ on the ground with his back against the cage and then pulls him out putting him on his back. Justin starts hammering in solid shots to the head, BJ answers back with a couple shots from the bottom but not with the power of Justin's shots. BJ attempts an arm bar but Justin pushes through and falls into side control. and starts dropping huge shots to the head as he stands and brings his body weight down with each shot. Justin then moves to the other side and steps over to full mount, BJ immediately turns giving up his back. Justin sinks his hooks in taking BJ's back and continues hammering in shots to the head, BJ turns again but Justin keeps the mount and does not let up a bit hammering in shots to the head. Justin attempts to roll out in a arm bar attempt but then decides to just sit back up in the mount and hammer in a few more shots to the head, BJ turns again giving up his back and Justin hammers in several more shots to the head causing BJ to tap to the strikes giving Justin the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, John then rushes in and lands a shot to the head before the fighters clinch up and begin to work for control. The fighters work against the cage and John ends up taking Jason to the ground with a hip toss and lands on top in Jason's guard. Jason attempts an arm bar but John just stands up and slams Jason to the mat breaking the grip, Jason gets back to his feet and clinches up attempting a take down but John locks in a guillotine choke and then falls back pulling guard and taking the fight to the ground, seconds later Jason is forced to tap giving John the submission victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and start to circle, Floyd lands a shot to the head and then moves in landing another before clinching up, driving Monty back against the cage and then picking him up and slamming him down to the mat. Floyd lands a couple shots to the head but then Monty gets a hold of a leg and sweeps him back to the ground, Monty makes it back to his feet and the fighters clinch up where Monty gets a judo throw taking Floyd to the ground and trapping him in a head and arm choke, Monty has a big cut on his head and at this time the ref calls a time out for the doctors to check the cut and they stop the fight due to the cut giving Floyd the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and Brenden lands a shot to the head that drops Josh to his knees, Josh immediately grabs a leg and starts working for a take down but Brenden defends and the fighters work for control from the clinch. Brenden lands a couple knees to the head as Josh continues working to get the fight to the ground and then Josh picks him up and slams Brenden on the mat taking the fight to the ground. Brenden attempts to control. Josh's arms to prevent the striking but Josh is still able to land a few short elbows to the face, Brenden then goes for an arm bar but Josh stands picking Brenden up and slams him back to the mat breaking the hold and stepping back allowing Brenden to get to his feet and the action continues. Josh moves in landing several solid shots to the head driving Brenden back against the cage, Josh lands several more shots rocking Brenden for a second. Brenden is able to recover quick and throws a front kick and then rushes in to a clinch and drives Josh back against the cage but Josh circles off putting Brenden against the cage and starts back in hammering shots to the head until the ref moves in to stop the fight giving Josh the TKO victory.

CJ closes in and clinches driving in a couple knees to the body as the fighters work the clinch each trying to gain control. Kelvin throws a couple light shots to the head and a couple knees to the body, CJ steps back and fires in a few shots to the head and the fighters clinch back up and exchange a few shots as they continue to work to gain the upper hand. After a few more seconds CJ scores a take down landing in side control. where he hammers in several solid elbows and hammer fists to the face, Kelvin attempts to hold him in close but CJ steps over to full mount and postures up where he hammers in several more shots to the head. Kelvin attempts to block as the shots come down and then from nowhere CJ grabs an arm and rolls into an arm bar, Kelvin tries to defend and works to get free but after a few seconds is forced to tap giving CJ the submission victory.

Mike throws out a couple leg kicks as the fighters continue to circle, Anthony keeps moving forward and landing a shot here and there and Mike keeps backing away trying to stay out of reach of the punches, the fighters clinch again and Mike fires of a shot to the head and then pushes off backing away to create distance. The fighters continue to circle with Anthony moving in landing a few shots to the head and Mike pushing out and moving away to avoid the strikes, after that happens several times Mike clinches up against the cage, Anthony pushes out and hammers in several shots to the head with the last one dropping Mike to the ground causing the ref to step in and stop the fight giving Anthony the TKO victory.

Jerry pushes off the cage and the fighters work for control. in the clinch and Andrew throws a couple more knees to the body, Jerry grabs a leg and starts working to get the fight to the ground but Andrew defends and is able to stay on his feet as the fighters continue to work the clinch. Jerry drops down to get control. of Andrew's legs and work a take down but Andrew hammers in a couple shots to the body and then several solid hammer fists to the head while defending the take down and then sprawls out, moves around taking Jerry's back and then unloading a flurry of shots to the head, Jerry just covers up and is not defending so after several shots the ref stops the fight giving Andrew the TKO victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and circle, Jason moves in with a kick to the body and the fighters clinch up Jason drops down taking leg control. and begins working for a take down but gets caught in a guillotine as he picks Chancellor up and slams him to the mat. Jason throws a few shots to the body and several short elbows to the head as he works to get his head free, after several seconds Jason gets free and immediately steps over to full mount. Chancellor uses his feet to roll off the cage and reverse the position but Jason immediately pushes him back and grabs a leg working a heel hook. Chancellor grabs a leg too and starts dropping some solid heel shots to the ribs as both fighters work for a leg lock submission. After a few seconds Jason gets just the right leverage and Chancellor is forced to tap giving Jason the submission victory.

ROUND 1: The fighters touch gloves and begin to circle, Tim throws out a leg kick and then closes in to clinch up, Tim lands a knee to the body and shot to the head and then Steven scores a judo throw taking the fight to the ground. TIm sweeps Steven ending up on top and taking Steven's back where he hammers in a solid shot to the face and then the fighters start working to their feet where Tim lands a heavy knee to the face as they separate. The fighters circle a bit and Tim throws out a high kick that misses, a second later Tim throws another kick that lands right on the button and knocks Steven out, Tim jumps in and throws one punch to the head for good measure before the ref moves in stopping the fight giving Tim the KO victory.
